900 Miles, 900 Photos... A Week in Photos...

This half-term break was a fabulous opportunity to see more of this beautiful country.  Here is just a taste of what I saw...

Apparently this is where the Queen makes her phone calls from.

Windsor Castle

The desk where Jane Austen wrote her incredible stories!

Salisbury Cathedral: this is from the fountain inside.

This is where choir boys used to have their heads "bumped" on the stone in order to make sure they were going to behave!
Salisbury Cathedral

Just as magical in person!

Lacock Abbey - Harry Potter 1 and 2 were filmed here!

Lacock Village - also known as Merryton in the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice!
Bath

Inside the clock tour at the Abbey

This bridge, Pulteney, was designed after the Ponte Vecchio in Florence!

The Roman Baths

Playing Dress Up at the Jane Austen Centre

King Arthur's Grave

Glastonbury Abbey

From the top of Glastonbury Tor

From the top of Glastonbury Tor - man was it windy!

This is how we were dressed... notice all the surfers...

These were the roads in the St. Ives and yes, I drove down them!

Tintagel - Legendary home of Merlin and birthplace of Arthur

I saw more rainbows here than I could even keep count of!

Land's End

Where the Pilgrims set sail from!

And this is the culled version...  I apologize for the length!  I am my mother's daughter!

  1. Looks fabulous! I was having the same problem choosing photos from my mid-term break. Traveling to too many lovely places is not the worst problem to have, however.

  2. I want you to post a picture of you in the Jane Austen costume! Also, Thomas is looking at these with me and I told him you graduated from Highlands. He said, "That's why it is such a good school!"

    1. Highlands definitely a wonderful place to start - I have no doubt that Thomas feels that too! :) There's a photo of me in "period" clothing, not technically a costume, but it is about half way through my LONG list of pictures! :)
