Christmas Eve Dinner

Typically, for Christmas Eve dinner, my parents and I are at home, for a quiet dinner, usually a dinner of steak my father has grilled with some tasty vegetables my mother has prepared.  This Christmas Eve, though, we went to a small hotel/pub/restaurant and enjoyed a delicious four course meal.

Although this may look like dessert, it was actually the starter - a poached pear with whipped creamed cheese.  You know, I like my starters to taste like desserts! :)

And the actual dessert was a sticky-toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and ice cream on the side.  Yes, it was as stickily delicious as it may sound!  The courses in between were good as well, but these were definitely my highlights!

It was different than my usual Christmas Eve dinner, but then again, most things I've done this year have been different.  I missed being with the whole family today, and I certainly have missed some of my Christmas traditions that happen at home, but I am with my parents in a beautiful place, we are all safe and sound, together, and happy.  What more could you ask for?

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas Eve - one full of old traditions and new treats!
