Read-A-Thon
This week is read-a-thon week! The pupils have all asked friends and family members to pledge money for each book that they read this week. All the money collected will go to charities that support children with cancer or children dealing with other difficult illnesses and conditions. In order to help the kids raise more money, we are taking ten minutes out of each lesson to read - just sit and enjoy our books! Yes, our! Even I take this time to read! I had so much fun having/making the time to read today! Several kids, and teachers, had recommended a short book to me called The Dancing Bear by Michael Morpurgo, a very well-known author here. It was a sweet story and a such a quick read that I finished it today. Tomorrow, I'm starting Sense and Sensibility!
Oh and we raised 350 pounds for the dancing bears! I'm so very proud of the girls and thrilled with the support from the rest of the school!
