Old Town Square

We've thoroughly enjoyed our two days in this gorgeous city! We walked across Charles Bridge, through the Jewish center, around the castle and spent a lot of time in the Old Town Square. The square is full of entertainers, restaurants and fellow tourists. It's a beautiful square, perfect for people watching and enjoying time together. Last night, as we ate dinner on the square, we overheard the people at the table next to us and learned they were from Florida. We struck up a conversation and as it turns out, one of them was born in Auburn and another attended Auburn, so I got one of those wonderful, warm "War Eagle"'s hundreds of miles away! The astronomical clock in the center of the square is a main tourist attraction. Much of the clock is over 600 years old and still tells the correct time. Upon the hour, Death rings the bell and the Apostles parade around two windows before the rooster "crows." It's pretty impressive and very enjoyable to see. This evening, we even climbed to the top of the Old Town Hall building, where the clock is held, to get a view of the surrounding city. What a treat! And what a truly spectacular day!
