Prague is a very musical city! There were bands playing everywhere. This band played some fantastic tunes including "Oh When the Saints Go Marching In," and the name of their band included the word "Dixieland!" |

Me, Stephanie, Jessica, Christy, and Niki on Charles Bridge with a great view of the castle. |
|
Like I said, a musical city! There were even musicians on the bridge! |
|
St. Vitus Cathedral, inside the castle walls, had stunning stained glass! |
|
Golden Lane: The itty bitty houses are on the outskirts of the castle and were lived in until the first part of the 20th century. They were for the craftsmen of the castle. Now they are a museum and some are filled with little shops! Prague Castle is very different from a castle that I picture. Instead, it is a giant walled area with modern buildings where government officials still conduct business. Inside the walls are churches, older buildings and even this beautiful little lane! |

Jessica, overlooking the city of Prague eating a delicious pastry roll that the city is known for! |

The astronomical clock is central in the city of Prague, residing over the large square in the center of the city. Installed in 1410, it is the oldest working astronomical clock in the world and it is said that people still aren't totally sure how it works. On the hour, Death rings the bell and the apostles spin through the windows above the clock before the rooster "crows." |
|
It was Cinco de Mayo, so I thought I should pay tribute to St. Margarita. |
|
The Jewish part of town is large, prominent and also very depressing as the Jews in Prague were forced from their homes during World War II and thousands of them never returned. |

Marionette puppets, common and famous throughout Prague, performed Don Giovanni, an opera by Mozart. They were cheeky and clever, making the opera even more entertaining. |

A boat ride at sunset provided for spectacular skies and beautiful views of the city! |

In between ordering our food at dinner and it arriving, a few of us climbed the tower in the center of town to get some spectacular views of the city at night! |

King Wenceslas: Yes, he is a real person, not just a character in a Christmas song! :) |

One of the two bathrooms we had in our apartment/hotel |
|
This is where we spent most of our time and money, in the street market! |
|
This little mole was all over the city, on all sorts of collectibles. We asked a lady about them and in her beautiful broken English she said: "It is Czech; it is mole." We pieced together that he is a character on a popular cartoon in the Czech Republic, but we just enjoyed how darn cute he was! |
Pictures cannot do the city of Prague justice. It is those narrow cobble stone streets, those fun markets, delicious pastries, great food, musicians playing, gorgeous architecture and humorous entertainment that help to give the city that truly special and unique feel.
